Auditioning for the Mid-Columbia Symphony

Auditions for orchestra musicians will take place on August 25, 2007 in Richland, Washington, from 9 am to 3 pm.

Candidates will play pre-selected orchestral excerpts and also will be asked to sight-read for a few minutes. There is no interview. A letter will be sent the following week notifying candidates of the results.

We especially need a principal 2nd violin, violin, viola, string bass, French horn, and trumpet 3. In addition, substitutes are always needed for other instruments.

We generally play four concerts per season at Richland and Kennewick High Schools. Musicians receive $25 per service, $27 for principals (five rehearsals and the concert = six services).  Those who live 30 miles outside of the Tri-Cities, Washington, are paid $0.35 per mile for travel, with a $150 maximum.

For further information, or to schedule an audition time, contact the Symphony office at (509) 943-6602 or (509) 943-2787. Or, you may stop by the office at 716 Jadwin Ave., Richland. All auditions must be scheduled in advance; no walk-ins will be accepted.
